Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer online therapy in Ontario?
Yes. All sessions are offered virtually across Ontario, so you can access therapy from the comfort of your home, office, or even your car (parked, of course!). Online therapy works through secure video sessions, making it just as effective as in-person counselling.
Do you accept insurance for psychotherapy in Ontario?
Currently, sessions are private pay only. A detailed receipt will be provided after each session, which you may submit to your insurance provider if psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is covered under your plan.
What types of therapy do you provide?
I use an integrative, evidence-based approach including:
- CBT therapy in Ontario (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
- DBT and REBT for emotional regulation and resilience
- Somatic therapy tools for nervous system regulation
- Gottman Method couples counselling for communication and connection
This means therapy is always tailored to your specific goals and challenges.
Do you offer couples counselling in Ontario?
Yes. I provide couples therapy using Gottman Method principles, which focus on improving communication, reducing conflict, and rebuilding trust and intimacy. Whether you’re navigating constant arguments, disconnection, or want to strengthen your bond, couples therapy can help.
Do you offer therapy in Hindi or Punjabi?
Yes. Therapy sessions are available in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, so you can express yourself in the language you feel most comfortable with. Many South Asian clients prefer therapy in Punjabi or Hindi to feel more at ease and understood.
What issues do you help with?
I work with adults (16+) who are facing:
- Anxiety, stress, and overthinking
- Anger management and impulse control
- Relationship struggles and attachment concerns
- Low self-esteem and emotional dysregulation
- Couples seeking support in communication and connection
How do virtual therapy sessions work?
Virtual therapy is simple: once you book, you’ll receive a secure video link. At your session time, click the link, find a private space, and join from your phone, tablet, or computer. It’s confidential, easy to access, and just as effective as in-person therapy.
Who do you work with?
I provide therapy for adults aged 16 and above, both individuals and couples. Whether you’re a student, a young professional, a parent, or part of a couple, therapy is tailored to your unique stage of life.
What’s the difference between a psychotherapist and a psychologist?
In Ontario, a psychotherapist focuses on talk therapy and helping clients work through emotions, relationships, and mental health challenges with evidence-based techniques. A psychologist can also provide therapy but often does assessments, testing, and in some cases works in academic or research settings. Both play important roles, but as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), my focus is on providing psychotherapy sessions that help you create meaningful change.
